Tyler-based Plectrum is the plaintiff.

It asserts infringement of U.S. Patent Nos. 6,205,149 and 5,978,951, which recent court papers explain pertain to communications networks and the technology that enables computers and other network devices to communicate with each other. Engineers at 3Com Corporation purportedly developed the technology disclosed by the subject patents.

Plectrum also lists another patent – U.S. Patent No. 6,751,677.

The complainant consequently unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.
