HOUSTON — A Harry County man is suing Sun Hing Foods, Inc., an ethnic food distributor, citing alleged age discrimination.

Eddy Ma filed a complaint on Jan. 18 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Sun Hing Foods alleging that this former employer violated the Age Discrimination in Employment Act.

According to the complaint, Ma alleges that on Oct. 11, he was terminated from his job solely because of his age. As a result, he suffered damages in the form of economic loss, mental anguish, attorney’s fees and costs and other damages. He holds Sun Hing Foods responsible because the defendant allegedly subjected him to unlawful discrimination and termination due to his age.

Ma requests a trial by jury and seeks back pay, front pay, prejudgment and post-judgment interest and all other remedies available at law and in equity. He is represented by Joshua A. Verde of The Verde Law Firm, PLLC in Houston.
