HOUSTON — A Harris County couple is suing an an auto repair shop, alleging fraudulent misrepresentation.

Gregory Spires and Alzadia Spires filed a complaint Jan. 17 in Harris County District Court against SRDARNCO LLC, also known as Driver's Auto Repair, alleging violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act.

According to the complaint, on July 27, 2016, Gregory and Alzadia Spires entered into a service agreement wherein Driver's Auto Repair would perform mechanical services to their 2013 Range Rover. As a result of the defendant's negligence, the suit says, the plaintiffs suffered economic damages, including costs of repair and replacement, loss of time, inconvenience and mental anguish.

The plaintiffs allege Driver's Auto Repair breached its duty to exercise reasonable care to prevent damages by failing to disclose that the repair work would void the vehicle's warranty.

The Spireses seek trial by jury, judgment for economic, treble and exemplary damages, court costs and all other equitable relief. They are represented by attorney Helen Ashegbeyeri of Ashegbeyeri Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
