The plaintiff Novocrypt is based in Plano.

Asserting ownership of United States Patent No. 7,743,213, Novocrypt has pursued legal action in response to what it asserts was infringement.

“The plaintiff is the owner and assignee of all substantial rights, title, and interest in the 213 patent, including the right to assert all causes of action arising under the patent and the right to recover all past and future damages for infringement of the patent,” recent court papers say.

They also show that the ‘213 patent, entitled “Portable Storage Device with Network Function,” was issued on June 22, 2010.

Novocrypt seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

It is represented by attorney Peter J. Corcoran, III of the law firm Corcoran IP Law, PLLC in Texarkana.
