HOUSTON — A Brazoria County woman is suing theater group managers, alleging their negligence caused her to fall down the stairs.

Irish A. Lashley filed a complaint Jan. 27 in Harris County District Court against Boxer Property Management Corporation, The Arena Group GP, Inc. and The Arena Group, LP, alleging liability in breaching their duty to exercise reasonable care in keeping their premises safe.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 12, 2016, Lashley was a volunteer usher at the defendants' Arena Theater in Houston where she fell from the stairs area injuring herself. The suit says Lashley suffered physical injuries, mental anguish and medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to maintain the premises in a reasonably safe condition, failed to warn Lashley of the dangerous condition and failed to inspect premises for any dangerous condition that existed.

Lashley seeks trial by jury, actual damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, court costs and all other just relief. She is represented by attorneys Sean A. Roberts and Anjali Sharma of Robert Markland LLP in Houston.
