Rental equipment company alleges rigs business broke agreement

HOUSTON — A rental equipment company is suing offshore oil rig companies, alleging breach of master service agreement.

Stallion Offshore Quarters Inc., filed a complaint Feb. 6 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Blake International Rigs LLC and Blake International USA Rigs LLC, alleging failure to fulfill contractual obligations.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 1, 2016, Stallion Offshore provided rental living quarters and equipment to the defendants on an open account. The amount of $560,712 remains due and unpaid, the suit says.

As a result, the lawsuit states, the plaintiff has suffered actual damages of $745,494.05. The plaintiff alleges the defendants accepted the goods and services provided by Stallion but has failed to pay.

Stallion Offshore Quarters seeks trial by jury, for actual damages consisting of $745,494.05, additional damages of $1,500 per day from the date of the last invoice, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney fees, costs of suit and all other just and proper relief.
