Fort Bend customer accuses contractors, subcontractors of contract breach

Contract 08

HOUSTON — A Fort Bend County man is suing contractors and subcontractors, alleging breach of contract and breach of warranty.

Richard Williams filed a complaint Feb. 8 in Harris County District Court against C&H American Systems Inc., et al, alleging they violated the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act.

According to the complaint, in 2011, Williams contracted C&H to renovate his home at 323 Club Island Way in Montgomery County, and the work was substantially completed in summer 2016. In late summer 2016, the suit says, multiple systems began to fail and one resulted in a fire on the boat dock.

Williams alleges C&H negligently selected all subcontractors and failed to oversee all works being done on the project and failed to adequately install the materials as contracted.

Williams seeks trial by jury, actual, exemplary and treble damages, pre- and post-judgment interest and all such other equitable relief. He is represented by attorneys Stephanie M. Hart of Laucius & Associates in Houston, and by Jon M. Stautberg of Houston.
