HOUSTON — A Louisiana gas compression company is suing a former employee and competitor, alleging unfair competition and unjust enrichment.

M&J Valve Service Inc. of Lafayette, Louisiana, filed a complaint Feb. 13 in Harris County Circuit Court against Ricky Pollard and Samco Enterprise Inc., alleging they tortiously interfered with the plaintiff's contractual and business relations.

According to the complaint, as a result of the defendants unlawful actions, M&J Valve has suffered and will continue to suffer irreparable harm in the form of loss of business opportunities, reputation and good will, and loss of profits, unless the defendants are promptly restrained.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants misappropriated M&J Valve's trade secrets and/or confidential information and directly solicited and encouraged the plaintiff's customers to do business with them.

M&J Valve Service seeks trial by jury, a temporary restraining order and permanent injunction from retaining possession and using the plaintiff's trade secrets and confidential information and from tortiously interfering with the plaintiff's business, all damages, plus interest, litigation costs and all other equitable relief. It is represented by attorney Paul D. Gibson of Gibson Law Group PLLC in Lafayette.
