HOUSTON — A Houston woman is suing a bar operator, alleging its negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff.
Kathleen Corbett filed a complaint Feb. 20 in Harris County District Court against LCW Properties Inc. alleging failure to exercise ordinary care to protect its invitees from danger.
According to the complaint, on March 29, 2015, Crobett was an invitee at the defendant's La Carafe in Houston when she fell while exiting the stairs just outside the restroom. The suit says Corbett sustained severe injuries to her left ankle that resulted in physical and mental pain, medical expenses and lost wages.
The plaintiff alleges holds LCW Properties failed to provide adequate lighting in the area and failed to implement safety measures to ensure the stairs were safe.
Corbett seeks trial by jury, compensatory damages, pre- and post-judgment interest and all other just and proper relief. She is represented by attorneys Eugene W. Brees and Michelle M. Cheng of Whitehurst, Harkness, Brees, Cheng, Alsafar & Higginbotham PLLC in Austin.
