HOUSTON — A Harris County man is suing Houston truss manufacturers, alleging a manufacturing defect caused injuries to the plaintiff.
Denis Jesus Garcia Fuentes filed a complaint Feb. 20 in Harris County District Court against Trussway Ltd. and Trussway Manufacturing Inc., alleging they negligently used substandard and defective materials in manufacturing the truss.
According to the complaint, on Nov. 17, 2016, Fuentes was installing framing on the second floor of a new apartment complex in Pflugerville when he stepped on a truss and the truss broke, causing him to fall 100 feet to the ground. As a result, the suit says, Fuentes, 28, sustained severe injuries and is now a paraplegic and crippled for life.
The plaintiff alleges the defendants defectively manufactured the truss and negligently placed it into the stream of commerce.
Fuentes seeks trial by jury, compensatory and exemplary damages of $50 million and all other just relief. He is represented by attorney Ben Dominguez II of Law Offices of Ben Dominguez II in Houston.
