Willowbrook Mall sued over slip-and-fall injury

Slip01

HOUSTON — A Harris County resident is suing Willowbrook Mall over injuries she sustained in a fall at the shopping center.

Katrina Tapo filed a complaint on Feb. 23, in the Harris County County District Court against Willowbrook Mall alleging that the shopping center operator breached its duty to provide a reasonably safe place to shop and didn't take sufficient measures to prevent customer injuries.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was walking by the Guess store at the mall on May 15, 2015, when she slipped and fell on a puddle of water near the beer coolers. She sustained personal injuries that required medical care and treatment. The plaintiff holds Willowbrook Mall responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to correct an unreasonably dangerous condition nor warn the plaintiff about it.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an award for all damages, court costs and other relief. She is represented by Taft Foley of The Foley Law Firm in Houston.
