Iowa hauling company sued in contract dispute

Contract 07

HOUSTON — An HVAC company is suing Seegers Truck Line Inc., an Iowa hauling service company, citing alleged breach of contract and negligence.

Texas Lone Star Mechanical Inc. filed a complaint on Feb. 27, in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas, alleging that the Iowa hauling company failed to deliver all of plaintiff’s goods as promised.

According to the complaint, the defendant was hauling a cooling tower for the benefit of plaintiff when the defendant's representative dropped and damaged the tower. As a result, the plaintiff suffered actual, incidental and consequential damages of at least $24,940, the complaint said. The plaintiff holds Seegers responsible because defendant's driver allegedly transported the cooling tower in a negligent manner.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensation for all damages, together with pre- and post-judgment interest, court costs and any additional relief to which it is entitled. It is represented by Andrew McCormick and Laurie Landry Munoz of McCormick Landry Munoz, PLLC in Bellaire.
