GALVESTON — A Fort Bend woman is suing MVR Star Fleet LLC, a yacht rental company, citing alleged false, misleading or deceptive business practices.

Renu Agrawal filed a complaint on Feb. 28, in the Galveston County District Court against MVR Star Fleet LLC, alleging that the yacht rental company failed to comply with the terms of the contract she signed.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff entered into a contract with the defendant, who agreed to provide its Star Gazer yacht for her party planned for Nov. 26, 2016. She provided the required deposit of $5,995. As a result of defendant's breach, she was forced to find a replacement yacht on short notice and to expend an additional $5,969.59 for deposit. The plaintiff holds MVR Star Fleet LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide the yacht and supplies as agreed upon and refused her request for a refund of the deposit.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of $100,000 and all other relief to which she is entitled. She is represented by Michael Falick of Rothfelder & Falick LLP in Houston.
