Employee with disability sues equipment rental company

HOUSTON — An employee with disability is suing United Rentals Inc., an equipment rental company, citing alleged discrimination.

Zachary C. Gay filed a complaint on March 2, in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against United Rentals Inc. alleging that the equipment rental company violated the Americans with Disabilities Act regulations.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, due to defendant's discriminatory conduct, he has suffered and will continue to suffer loss wages and benefits, humiliation, emotional distress, mental anguish and other incidental and consequential damages. The plaintiff holds United Rentals Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide reasonable accommodations and subjected him to unlawful discrimination, harassment, retaliation and termination.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory and punitive damages, interest, attorney's fees and costs and such other and further relief to which he may be entitled. He is represented by Marjorie A. Murphy of The Murphy Law Practice PLLC in Houston.
