HOUSTON — A Houston woman is suing American Airlines, alleging the defendant's negligence caused her to be injured at a baggage conveyor.
Gloria Franks filed a complaint March 6 in Harris County District Court against American Airlines Inc., alleging the airline failed to ensure that work was performed in compliance with the industry safety standards.
According to the complaint, in December 2016, Franks was injured when an American employee placed a luggage bag on the side of a conveyor that hit the plaintiff and caused her to fall. The suit says Franks sustained injuries to her head, back, neck, hip and others parts of the body.
The plaintiff alleges American Airlines failed to provide a safe work environment and failed to ensure that workers were properly trained.
Franks seeks trial by jury, compensatory, exemplary and consequential damages of more than $1 million, court costs and all other just and proper relief. She is represented by attorneys Nicholas A. Morrow and John D. Sheppard of Morrow & Sheppard LLP in Houston.
