Slip01

HOUSTON — A Houston woman is suing the Houston Livestock Show, alleging its negligence led to her suffering injuries.

Norma Figueroa filed a complaint March 10 in Harris County District Court against Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo inc., Harris County Sports & Convention Corp. and SMG Reliant Park, alleging they breached their duty to provide a safe environment for invitees.

According to the complaint, on March 10, 2015, Figueroa was entering Reliant Park when she suddenly lost her foothold and fell onto the ground due to uneven surface on the defendants' premises. The suit says she sustained severe injuries that resulted in economic losses, pain and suffering, hospitalization and medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to properly construct and secure the walkway and failed to provide warning that the specific area was hazardous and dangerous.

Figureroa seeks trial by jury, monetary of more than $1 million and all other relief. She is represented by attorney Richard A. Hinojosa of Hinojosa Law PLLC in Houston.
