HOUSTON — A Harris County woman is suing a transportation carrier operator, alleging its negligence caused injuries to the plaintiff.

Doris Odell filed a complaint March 13 in Harris County District Court against A Ambassador Limousine & Transportation Inc. alleging failure to exercise the highest degree of care in operating a vehicle.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 16, 2016, Odell, 67, was injured when she fell backward and slid down the steps of the defendant's bus. The suit says Odell sustained injuries that resulted in physical and mental pain, impairment, lost wages and medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to properly maintain and repair the bus and failed to provide assistance to passengers boarding and discharging from the bus.

Odell seeks trial by jury, judgment with interest, costs of court and all other just and proper relief. She is represented by attorney Clifford D. Peel II of Houston.
