Asbestos 02

HOUSTON – The Mesothelioma Claims Center is expanding its services and it is trying to make it easier for those impacted by the disease to receive easier access to compensation.

According to its website, "we’ve helped thousands of individuals diagnosed with mesothelioma to connect and consult with mesothelioma lawyers.

"Our mesothelioma lawyer locator process can help you identify the best asbestos-mesothelioma lawyers located in your local area. Our top priority is to help you and your family get through this difficult situation. We do so by assisting you in making the best possible choice.’’

The claims center consists of attorneys, administrators and patient advocates who have plenty of experience in helping those people affected by asbestos. One affiliated law office is Danziger & De Llano in Houston.

The claims center claims it has a network of resources that helps speed up the process for patients.

Mesothelioma is a form of cancer caused by exposure to asbestos and it is often fatal. Those most affected are Navy veterans and those who have worked in construction or industrial settings, according to a press release issued by Danziger & De Llano.

Those also affected have worked in oil production or as machinists in shipyards. Others susceptible are electricians and plumbers, who have installed drywall or insulation, according to the release.

Symptoms of the disease include a swollen abdomen, fatigue, cough, weight loss, chest wall pain and shortness of breath.

A diagnosis can be made by a CT scan or chest X-ray, and then it is confirmed by a tissue biopsy. Treatment options include chemotherapy, radiation therapy and surgery.
