Customer alleges store's negligence caused her injuries

Slip01

HOUSTON — A Harris County woman is suing Houston retail store operators, alleging their negligence led to her suffering injuries.

Kathy Dominguez filed a complaint March 28 in Harris County District Court against Epic Stores LLC and Festival Properties Inc., alleging they failed to maintain their premises in a reasonably safe condition.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 25, 2015, Dominguez entered the defendants' store on Cypress Creek Parkway in Houston to purchase goods. As she began shopping, the suit says, she slipped and fell due to a slippery floor. The lawsuit says the fall led to Dominguez sustaining injuries that resulted in medical and hospital expenses, pain and suffering and reduction in earning capacity.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to warn business invitees of the existence of the dangerous condition.

Dominguez seeks monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million and all other just and proper relief. She is represented by attorneys Jordan A. Glaze and Josh Garrett of Glaze | Garrett PLLC in Gilmer, and by Sam K. Mukerji of Mukerji Law Firm PC in Houston.
