Slip01

HOUSTON — A Houston man is suing a local Holiday Inn, alleging negligence caused him injuries.

Jonathan Rivenbark filed a complaint April 3 in Harris County Circuit Court against JIN Hospitality Ltd., doing business as Holiday Inn Express Houston, alleging failure to adequately warn invitees of any dangerous condition and failure to make the premises reasonably safe to avoid any injuries.

According to the complaint,on Oct. 1, 2016, Rivenbark was on his way to the front desk of the Holiday Inn Express Houston when he encountered water in the area where a carpet meets tile. This caused Rivenbark to slip and fall to the ground, the suit says, and he suffered physical injuries, pain, mental anguish and incurred medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to know of the dangerous condition, failed to warn invitees of the dangerous condition and failed to make necessary repair or make safe of the condition prior to the time of plaintiff's injury.

Rivenbank seeks trial by jury, damages, court costs, expenses, pre- and post-judgment interests and all just and proper relief. He is represented by attorney Rusty Harrison of Waltman and Grisham in Bryan.
