Aircraft mechanic accuses United of wrongful termination

HOUSTON — An aircraft mechanic is suing United Airlines, alleging discrimination, hostile work environment and wrongful termination.

George Tsatsaronis filed a complaint April 6 in Harris County District Court against United Airlines Inc. alleging violation of the Texas Labor Code.

According to the complaint, on July 20, 2016, Tsatsaronis, who has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, was terminated from his employment, causing him. to suffer monetary, emotional and consequential damages. The plaintiff alleged United subjected him to discriminatory actions because of his disability and retaliated against him by terminating his employment for engaging in protected activity.

Tsatsaronis seeks trial by jury, actual, compensatory and liquidated damages, plus interest, attorney fees, court costs and all other just and equitable relief. He is represented by attorney Peter Costea of Houston.
