Widow blames husband's employer for his death

HOUSTON — A Harris County widow is suing her husband's employer, alleging the defendant's negligence caused his death.

Linda Parker of Deer Park, individually and on behalf of the estate of Eddie Parker, deceased, filed a complaint April 28 in Harris County District Court against Ryder Services Corp., doing business as Ryder Claims Services Corp. alleging failure to provide a safe place to work.

According to the complaint, on May 12, 2016, Eddie Parker, 68, sustained significant injuries while repairing a vehicle on the defendant's premises. The suit says these injuries contributed to Parker's death Aug. 20, 2016.
