8 black employees accuse sanitation company of discrimination

MARSHALL — Eight black employee are suing a Paris sanitation business, alleging discrimination and retaliation.

Derrick Robert, Jermaine Bell, Jarvis Hill, Keithdrick Patterson, Tadarious Dixon, Demetrius Patterson, Lamonte Young and Dantrell Patterson filed a complaint April 20 in the Marshall Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Sanitation Solutions Inc. alleging the defendant subjected the plaintiffs to discrimination during their time as employees.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs were damaged from being discriminated against and harassed during their many years of employment. The plaintiffs allege Sanitation Solutions employees used the term "n....." to the plaintiffs and retaliated against them for complaining.

The plaintiffs seek trial by jury, injunction against the defendant, restraining the defendant from any retaliation, all damages, front pay, exemplary and punitive damages, attorney fees, pre- and post-judgment interest, reinstatement and all necessary and proper relief.
