HOUSTON — A consumer is suing reporting agencies, alleging false reporting.

Kristine Castillo filed a complaint May 4 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Equifax Information Services LLC, Experian Information Solutions Inc., TransUnion LLC, Harvest Associates Inc., et al, alleging they violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

According to the complaint, Castillo was a victim of identity theft. The suit says as a result of the defendants providing false information to third parties, this information negatively reflects on Castillo's credit history, financial responsibilities and credit worthiness.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants continued to report the false information and failed to investigate the disputed information.

Castillo seeks trial by jury, actual, statutory and punitive damages, attorney fees, costs of court and expenses. She is represented by attorney Micah S. Adkins of The Adkins Firm PC in Birmingham, Alabama.
