Great China Restaurant accused of serving shellfish to man with allergy

BEAUMONT — A Texas man is suing Great China Restaurant, Jing Wen Mai and King Mak Inc. for alleged negligence.

Robert Herbert filed a complaint on April 7 in the Jefferson County District Court, alleging that the defendants included shellfish in the his order.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was injured due to the swelling of his throat and face due to ingesting shellfish at the defendants' establishment on April 15, 2015. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly including shellfish in his order despite being informed that he was allergic.

The plaintiff seeks damages, legal interest, court costs and other relief to which plaintiff may be justly entitled. He is represented by Jonathan Juhan and J. J. Bragg of Jonathan Juhan in Beaumont.
