Medical malpractice 08

BEAUMONT — A representative is suing Cypress Glen Nursing & Rehab for alleged negligence and for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.

Cheryl Snider, individually and as representative of the estate of Florine Welch, filed a complaint on April 3 in the Jefferson County District Court alleging that the defendant failed to provide proper care to Welch.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Welch scraped her leg on Jan. 30, 2015 while she was being transferred from her bed to a chair and also developed a venous ulcer. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to properly assist Welch while she was in its facility.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant for a sum within the limits of this court, pre- and post-judgment interest, court costs and other relief that the plaintiff may be justly entitled. She is represented by Collid Cobb of The Monk Law Firm in Beaumont.
