The plaintiff Blitzsafe is based in Marshall.

According to recent court papers, the company sells automotive interface products that allow the end user to connect a third-party external audio device or multimedia device to a car stereo in order to play the content on the device through the car stereo system and speakers.

It asserts ownership of U.S. Patent Nos. 7,489,786 and 8,155,342, claiming both patents were targets of infringement.

The ‘786 patent, entitled “Audio Device Integration System,” was issued on Feb. 10, 2009 while the ‘342 patent, entitled “Multimedia Device Integration System,” was issued on Apr. 10, 2012.

Blitzsafe seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.
