Customer accuses glass manufacturer of fraud

GALVESTON — A customer is suing a glass manufacturer, alleging common law fraud.

GMC Land Investments LLC filed a complaint May 16 in Galveston County District Court against Houston ADR Inc. alleging violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act.

According to the complaint, on Sept. 1, 2014, GMC Land's contracted Houston ADR to manufacture custom glass countertops for a kitchen and master bath at 2525 E. Seaside, Galveston. As a result of the defendant's breach, the suit says, GMD Land suffered monetary damages for paying the defendant for cracked countertops.

The plaintiff alleges Houston ADR has represented that it submitted an insurance claim to its insurance carrier and the carrier has denied the claim.

GMC Land Investments seeks monetary relief between $100,000 and $200,000, attorney fees, court costs and all other equitable relief. It is represented by attorney Cris A. Rasco of Rasco Law Firm in Texas City.
