BEAUMONT — A Jefferson County couple is suing contractors, alleging false misrepresentation.

Jason Champagne and Brandy Champagne filed a complaint May 16 in Jefferson County District Court against Kinsmen Homes LLC and John Ramsey, alleging they intentionally violated the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act.

The plaintiffs allege the defendants failed to construct the plaintiffs' home in Beaumont in compliance with the plans, specifications and the warranties.

The Champagnes seek trial by jury, monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million and all other lawful and equitable relief. They are represented by attorneys Mark C. Sparks and Michael A. Downey of Mostyn Law in Galveston.
