HOUSTON – The father of a woman killed in the parking lot of a Katy CVS Pharmacy two years ago has filed a wrongful death lawsuit, recent Harris County District Court records show.

In the suit filed on May 26 in the Harris County 165th District Court, David Pena implicates CVS and Harris County residents Christian Shawn Williams and Robert Dike in the death of 20-year-old Stephanie Pena.

Court papers say the younger Pena was shopping at the CVS located at 3050 W. Grand Parkway on May 28, 2015, when Williams and Dike shot her multiple times.

Stephanie Pena was killed immediately, according to the original petition.

The suit faults CVS for not taking measures to ensure the decedent’s safety on the premises and alleges the assailants made threats to her prior to the incident in question.

David Pena consequently seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

Attorney Brent M. Cordell of the law firm Smith & Hassler in Houston is representing Stephanie Pena’s estate.
