MONKEYMEDIA, INC. V SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS CO., LTD. ET AL 2:17-cv-00460-JRG

Austin-based MONKEYmedia is the plaintiff.

It has pursued legal action on claims United States Patent Numbers 6,393,158; 9,185,379; and 9,247,226 were infringed upon.

Recent court papers list the company’s founder, Eric Gould Bear, as the subject patents’ inventor, stating that said patents are a part of the “Seamless Expansion” family.

MONKEYmedia seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

Attorneys Steven D. Smit and Matthew C. Powers of the law firm Graves, Dougherty, Hearon & Moody, P.C. in Austin are representing in the complainant.

AERITAS, LLC V. CHARLOTTE RUSSE, INC. 6:17-cv-00328-RWS-JDL

The plaintiff Aeritas is based in Dallas.

Asserting ownership of U.S. Patent Nos. 7,706,819; 8,055,285; and 9,390,435, it complains of alleged infringement.

The patents in question, entitled “Mixed-Mode Interaction,” were invented by Malik Mamdani, Patrick Johnson, Kevin Bomar, Curtis Grant, and Tim Whatley, according to court documents.

“In recognition of its pioneering efforts in this field, the United States Patent & Trademark Office issued the inventors several U.S. patents directed to the Aeritas’s innovative technology platform, service and notification method,” they explain. “These include the Asserted Patents.”

Aeritas seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

It is represented by attorney Matthew DelGiorno of the law firm DelGiorno IP Law, PLLC in Allen.
