HOUSTON — A Pasadena woman is suing a dollar store, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries.
Lilia Travecedo filed a complaint June 2 in the Harris County District Court against 99 Cents Only Store LLC alleging that the public store operator breached its duty to provide safety and protection to its invitees.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 26, 2016, she went to the 99 Cents Only Store store at 4100 Fairmont Parkway to shop when she slipped and fell on liquid that was on the floor. The plaintiff suffered physical pain and impairment, mental anguish and medical expenses. The plaintiff holds 99 Cents Only Store responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to inspect the premises and maintain it in a reasonably safe manner.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief between $100,000 and $200,000 and such other relief to which plaintiff is entitled. She is represented by Maria Fernandez Sanchez and Marco Gonzalez of The Gonzalez Law Group PLLC in Houston.
