HOUSTON — A guest is suing restaurant operators, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries.

Horace Hodges filed a complaint June 2 in the Harris County District Court against Sweetie Pie's Restaurants Inc., Sweetie Pies Hollywood LLC and James T. Norman alleging Norman intentionally caused the plaintiff to sustain injuries.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 16, 2016, he was at Sweet Times by Sweet Pie's restaurant when he sustained injuries resulting in physical pain, emotional pain, medical expenses and disfigurement. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because Norman allegedly struck the plaintiff in the eye with his fist.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, costs of court and other relief. He is represented by Kraig L. Rushing and Ben Bronston of Bronston Legal PC in Houston.
