Tower worker blames ladder manufacturer, tower owners for injuries

Law money 03

HOUSTON — A Michigan man is suing a ladder manufacturer and tower owners, alleging their negligence caused him to fall and suffer injuries.

Stevin Ammerman filed a complaint May 31 in Harris County District Court against Safway Group Holdings LLC, Crown Castle USA Inc. Crown Castle GT Company LLC, et al, alleging they failed to provide protection systems to prevent falls.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 29, Ammerman was performing maintenance work on a tower in Richardson, Texas, owned by Crown and using a Spider Industrial Basket manufactured by Safway. The suit says Ammerman fell 30 to 35 feet to the ground and sustained severe injuries to his back, legs, feet and other parts of his body.

The plaintiff alleges Safway failed to manufacture a safe Spider Industrial Basket and Crown failed to warn the plaintiff that the tower was unsafe.

Ammerman seeks trial by jury, monetary relief in excess of $1 million and all other lawful and equitable relief. He is represented by attorneys Jason A. Itkin, Cory D. Itkin, Ryan S. McLeod and Bradford Hendrickson of Arnold & Itkin LLP in Houston.
