Employee blames roofing contractor for injuries

HOUSTON — An employee is suing a roofing contractor, alleging negligence led to injuries for the plaintiff.

Fabio Lopez filed a complaint June 1 in Harris County District Court against Stormbusters of Texas LLC, alleging the defendant's breached its duty to ensure the plaintiff's safety.

According to the complaint, on May 27, 2017, Lopez was injured when he fell from the roof of the home he was working on at 14815 El Miranda Drive, Houston. The suit says Lopez sustained severe injuries all over his body, including facial and arm fractures and likely faces future surgery.

The plaintiff alleges Stormbusters of Texas failed to provide proper training and safety equipment to complete Lopez's task.

Lopez seeks trial by jury, monetary relief of more than $1 million and all other lawful and equitable relief. He is represented by attorneys Juan C. Garcia and Daniel Johnson of Johnson Garcia LLP in Houston.
