Assistant nursing director accuses senior living center of wrongful termination

HOUSTON — A Houston nurse is suing a senior living center, alleging defamation and retaliation.

Angela Couvillion filed a complaint June 30 in Harris County District Court against Accel at Hermann Park, a division of StoneGate Senior Living LLC, alleging she was wrongfully terminated.

According to the complaint, Couvillion has suffered financial difficulties, damaged reputation and mental anguish after being wrongfully terminated from her employment as an assistant director of nursing March 24, 2016. The p

Couvillion alleges the defendant retaliated against her by terminating her employment after she reported a theft of drugs by the director of nursing incident. The suit says the defendants circulated her photo within the facility notifying her that she was being terminated because she was accused of sexual harassment.

Couvillion seeks trial by jury, monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, plus other general and equitable relief.
