Rigger alleges energy company's negligence led to injuries

HOUSTON — A Houston man is suing Schlumberger, alleging its gross negligence caused injuries to the plaintiff.

Osaro Bright Asamago filed a complaint June 30 in Harris County District Court against Schlumberger Technology Corporation and Schlumberger Services Inc., alleging they failed to adequately implement safety policies and procedures.

According to the complaint, on April 8, Asamago sustained severe injuries, including a broken right leg, while working at a west Texas oil well owned by Carrizo Oil & Gas Inc. The suit says his injuries caused him to experience extreme pain, mental anguish and necessary medical treatment. 

The plaintiff alleges holds Schlumberger failed to perform operations in a safe, reasonable and prudent manner.

Asamago seeks trial by jury, monetary relief of more $1 million and all equitable relief. He is represented by attorneys Ryan H. Zehl, Kevin C. Haynes and Matt L. Martin of Zehl & Associates PC in Houston.
