HOUSTON – A Harris County couple is seeking damages after they were allegedly robbed while dining at a Denny's restaurant.

Forris Washington and Walkesha Washington filed a complaint on June 28 in the Harris County District Court against Denny's Inc., doing business as Denny's No. 7275, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs were dining at the defendants' Houston location May 16 when three masked men with guns entered the restaurant and robbed the patrons and establishment. The plaintiffs allege their wallets, money and personal effects were robbed under threat of severe injury and/or death. The suit states that an identical incident occurred at the same location three weeks prior.

The plaintiffs hold Denny's Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to implement adequate security measures.

The plaintiffs seek monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and such other necessary and appropriate relief. They are represented by Joseph P. Vredevelt of Joseph P. Vredevelt Attorney at Law in Houston.
