The Pointe Apartments guest alleges plywood ramp caused fall

HOUSTON – A Harris County woman allege she was injured at Pasadena apartment complex because of a hazard left by maintenance personnel.

Maria Bermea filed a complaint on July 6 in the Harris County District Court against Kome Homes LLC, doing business as The Pointe Apartments, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 29, she was walking between defendant's buildings when she slipped and fell on plywood that was being used as a ramp to the sidewalk. She alleges she sustained severe injuries and damages resulting in pain and suffering, mental anguish, disability and medical expenses. 

The plaintiff holds Kome Homes LLC responsible because defendant allegedly failed to maintain the premises.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $100,000 but not more than $200,000 and all other just and proper relief. She is represented by Frederick L. McGuire, Etta Davidson and Haleigh Shanks of Law Office of Frederick L. McGuire in Liberty.
