Courier accuses freight shipping companies of unpaid overtime wages

Late 05

HOUSTON — A Houston woman has filed a class action lawsuit against freight shipping companies, alleging violation of workers compensation act in failing to pay overtime.

Ashley Green, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, filed a complaint July 10 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Trinity Couriers Inc. and Trinity Couriers of Houston Inc., alleging they violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, from March 2017 to the present, Green regularly worked in excess of 40 hours per week as a courier without receiving proper overtime compensation. The plaintiff alleges the defendants refused to compensate her employment for hours worked beyond 40 hours per at a rate not less than one and one-half times her regular rate as required by FLSA and failed to maintain accurate time and pay records.

Green seeks trial by jury, an order allowing this case to proceed as a collective action, all unpaid overtime compensation, liquidated damages, attorney fees and court costs and all other relief. She is represented by attorneys Melissa Moore, Curt Hesse and Bridget Davidson of Moore & Associates in Houston.
