Consumer claims Premier Recovery Group attempted to collect already settled alleged debt

Late 02

HOUSTON – A consumer claims that a debt collector is attempting to alleged an alleged debt that he already settled.

Christopher Simpson filed a complaint on July 11 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against National Credits Adjusters LLC and Premier Recovery Group Inc. alleging that they violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the defendants initiated collection proceedings against Simpson in January 2016 for an alleged debt owned by National Credit Adjusters. The suit states the plaintiff entered into a settlement the next month with Premier Recovery Group to settle the alleged debt.

The plaintiff holds National Credits Adjusters LLC and Premier Recovery Group Inc. responsible because Premier Recovery Group allegedly contacted the plaintiff in September 2016 to collect on the alleged debt that had been settled and that National Credit Adjusters allegedly falsely represented the legal status of the alleged debt.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages in the amount of $1,000, attorney's fees, costs and such other relief as the law may provide. He is represented by Nicholas Michael Murado of Murado Law PA in Miramar, Florida.
