BEAUMONT – A Port Arthur woman alleges a defective staircase caused her to fall.

Onia Neveaux filed a complaint on June 27 in the Jefferson County District Court against Avery Trace, WRH Realty Services Inc. The Shire Apartments LTD, The Vestcor Cos. and Park Central Management Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 6, 2015, she was an invitee at defendants' premises when she fell due to a defective staircase. She alleges she sustained injuries resulting in physical pain, mental anguish, necessary medical expenses and loss of earning capacity.

The plaintiff holds Avery Trace, WRH Realty Services Inc. The Shire Apartments LTD, The Vestcor Cos. and Park Central Management Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to make the dangerous condition safe and/or to provide adequate warning.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $100,000 but not more than $200,000 and all further relief to which she may be entitled. She is represented by Jonathan C. Juhan and J. J. Bragg in Beaumont.
