Widow blames nursing home facility for husband's death

Medical malpractice 09

HOUSTON — A Sheridan woman is suing a Sugar Land nursing home facility, alleging gross negligence, assault and intentional infliction of emotional distress in the death of her husband.

Carol Boehme, individually and on behalf of the estate of Kevin Boehme, deceased, filed a complaint July 17 in Harris County District Court against Sugarland Management LLC, doing business as Sugar Land Health Centre, alleging failure to provide sufficient nursing personnel.

According to the complaint, as a result of the defendant's negligence, Kevin Boehme developed bedsores and infections, leading to his death March 6. The suit says he sustained pain and suffering, while Carol Boehme suffered emotional distress, medical and funeral expenses and loss of consortium.

The plaintiff alleges Sugar Land Health Centre failed to provide proper care, treatment, medication and diet as prescribed.

Carol Boehme seeks trial by jury, monetary between $200,000 and $1 million, plus all other just and equitable relief. She is represented by attorney Roy Camberg of The Camberg Law Firm PC in Houston.
