Veteran says loans were discharged, alleges Regional Adjustment Bureau misrepresented debt status

Late 01

HOUSTON – A Houston consumer alleges his student loans were discharged but that at least one collection agency is continuing to report a debt.

Robert B. Goss filed a complaint on July 19 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Regional Adjustment Bureau Inc., Enterprise Recovery Systems Inc., ACS/CLC Trust, et al. alleging violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is a Persian Gulf War veteran and was granted a total and permanent disability order, retroactive to 2008, through the Department of Veterans Affairs that discharged his student loans.

The plaintiff holds Regional Adjustment Bureau Inc., Enterprise Recovery Systems Inc., ACS/CLC Trust, et al. responsible because the defendant allegedly misrepresented the status of his debt.

The plaintiff seeks compensatory, statutory and punitive damages; attorney’s fees; court costs and such other relief to which he may show himself to be entitled. He is represented by Mark L. Aschermann of Aschermann Law in Bellaire.
