Patient accuses physician, Golden Triangle Neurocare LLP of negligence over injuries

Medical malpractice 09

BEAUMONT – A Jefferson County man alleges that he was injured when a surgeon failed to remove gauze and suture material following a surgery.

Ricky Doiron filed a complaint on July 14 in the Jefferson County District Court against Ian F. Angel MD and Golden Triangle Neurocare LLP alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is a paraplegic and manages his severe spinal spasticity through a Baclofen pump that is implanted in his abdomen that needs replaced every few years. The suit states Angel replaced the pump in May 2015 and an additional surgery was scheduled in July 2015 after an infection. The suit states the wound failed to heal.

The suit states that the defendants implanted a Dacron sock using blue Prolene suture material in the July 2015 surgery and it improperly remained in the plaintiff.

The plaintiff holds Angel and Golden Triangle Neurocare LLP responsible because the defendants allegedly carelessly left the gauze and suture material in his wound.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in an amount that he may show himself justly entitled, plus interest, costs of suit and such other just and equitable relief. He is represented by C. Ashley Callahan of Law Offices of C. Ashley Callahan PC in Austin.
