HOUSTON – A car audio business is accused of failing to pay a former accountant his promised salary and for defaulting on a loan.
Fahed Khalid filed a complaint on Aug. 4 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against ZCI LLC, doing business as the Pro Zone Audio, and Amir Khan alleging that they violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff began working for the defendants in December 2015 as an accountant and was promised a salary of $52,000 a year. He alleges he worked approximately 54 hours a week and was not paid a minimum wage or overtime wages.
The plaintiff also alleges that on Nov. 19, 2015, he agreed to loan defendants $50,000, but has not received any payments yet.
The plaintiff seeks all unpaid wages and overtime compensation, liquidated damages, attorneys’ fees and costs, actual and punitive damages, plus interest and such other and further relief. He is represented by Adrian V. Villacorta of The Villacorta Law Firm PC in Houston.
