BEAUMONT – Two Beaumont businesses are facing a suit from an employee seeking more than $1 million after he was injured while working.

Jake Kemp filed a complaint on Aug. 2 in the Jefferson County District Court against LaBelleCo Fab LLC and LaBelle Air LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 20, he was working at defendants' plant and was severely injured when a tool he was working electrocuted him and threw him against other equipment. He alleges he has suffered injuries to his head and other parts of the body that required extensive and ongoing medical treatment.

The plaintiff holds LaBelleCo Fab LLC and LaBelle Air LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide proper and safe equipment and failed to properly train and supervise their employees.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million and such other just and proper relief. He is represented by Kurt B. Arnold, Caj D. Boatright, Alison Baimbridge and Roland Christensen of Arnold & Itkin LLP in Houston.
