Tyson Foods employee alleges fall on roof caused fracture

Slip01

LUFKIN – A Louisiana woman employed by a poultry processing plant in Shelby County alleges the company failed to provide a safe workplace.

Terri Northcutt filed a complaint on Aug. 18 in the Lufkin Division of the Eastern District of Texas against Tyson Foods Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 27, she was in the course and scope of her employment with defendant when she was badly injured when she slipped on a puddle of water on the roof and suffered a fracture. The suit states her injuries required surgical intervention and hospitalization for five days.

The plaintiff holds Tyson Foods Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to supervise its employees and failed warn her of the slip hazards on the roof.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant for her damages, plus interest, costs of court and for such other and further relief as she may show herself justly entitled to receive. She is represented by Vuk S. Vujasinovic and Kenneth B. Fenelon of VB Attorneys in Houston.
