Woman seeks damages from Progressive County Mutual Insurance after collision

Insurance 05

GALVESTON – A League City woman is seeking more than $1 million in damages after she was allegedly injured in a collision.

Jerrica Zarrella filed a complaint on Aug. 22 in the Galveston County District Court against Progressive County Mutual Insurance Co. seeking recovery under underinsured/uninsured coverage.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 1, she sustained bodily injuries and property damage as a passenger in a motor vehicle accident caused by an underinsured/uninsured motorist. The suit states plaintiff made a claim under her underinsured coverage with defendant in a letter dated June 30. She alleges the driver that caused the collision was not covered under a valid insurance policy and that any recover was insufficient to compensate her for her injuries.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $1 million but not more than $10 million. She is represented by David W. Bergquist and Evette M. Hooper of Bergquist Law Firm in Houston.
