Man alleges age was factor in termination by Puffer Sweiven LLP, Bullen Pump Inc.

Wrongful term 02

HOUSTON – Two Stafford corporations are alleged to have unlawfully terminated a Montgomery County man's employment because of his age.

Phillip McCullough filed a complaint on Sept. 6 in the Harris County District Court against Puffer Sweiven LLP and Bullen Pump Inc. alleging that they violated the Texas Commission on Human Rights Act and the Texas Labor Code.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was hired by the defendants in 2011 and terminated from his position as inside sales engineer in May 2016 because of age, which was 75.

The plaintiff holds Puffer Sweiven LLP and Bullen Pump Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly treated him less favorably than other younger employees and terminated his employment because of his age.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual consequential and compensatory damages, costs of suit, attorney's fees, pre- and post-judgment interest and such other just and proper relief. He is represented by Peter Costea of Law Office of Peter Costea in Houston.
